Details:

I was trying to relocate my temp dir by editing downloads.ini, but this was
unsuccessful (mlnet insisted on using the home directory temp dir, even
recreating it when I deleted it).
So then I tried to use symlinks (restoring the default share names), but mlnet
crashed with no logging output.
f[x] on IRC suggested I use strace, which hinted at download.ini corruption.
I then put double quotes around the share names and all was fixed.
Looks like some error trapping code is required for ini file corruption. You
should be able to duplicate my issue by removing quotes around the default
share names.

(Lubuntu 12.04)
