Whats your client name? Is it mldonkey_*? Those are blocked at most
servers. Also check the availability of the file. Maybe they are
incomplete because noone has that one missing chunk.

Release or cvs version? What ocaml version? Binaries or self compiled?

Did you limit the up/download rates to reasonable values? Its measured
in KB/s not byte/s. Do you have swap? If so everything is probably so
slow because mldonkey is swapping. The mldonkey 1.16 release had
memory problems, maybe its just that.

Also pppoe had a bug quiting when your upload is flooded as p2p can
easily do. Debian has fixed that but I'm not sure if the upstream
author has incorporated those fixes or if other linux distribution
have added it. The effect is that your dsl dies and is blocked for a
few minutes, you should notice that.

If its swapping its just allways waiting for the harddrive and can't
go any faster. 14000 servers is quite few but should be fine. I have
10000 currently without problems and mldonkey only uses 100MB with 500
files downloading.

I think that just means the servers is no longer accepting
connections, probably offline. They are all other dsl users so thats
not suprising.

You can try to reduce the initial score for a server and the max age
so servers get kicked faster.

PS: If you have Debian try "deb ftp://mrvn.homeip.net/ sid main" in
/etc/apt/sources.list
