The lugdunum server-patch implements three possible
reasons for that. 

First there is something like a "mldonkey-blocker".
This feature tries to block versions before 2.0 of
mldonkey.

The second reason is a feature of lugdunum to check
faked upload-ports. If a client connects, the server 
tries to connect it on port 4662 (or whatever you use
instead). If the client doesn't respond in a given
time, it is blocked or marked with a low-id. I don't
know it exactly. Anyway, in some circumstances
mldondey doesn't respond like the server assumed.

The third reason is a generally block against clients
with low-id. Put this together with reason two and
mldonkey is out of business again.

<sarcasm>As I'm a fan of edonkey-conspiracy-stories
it's remarkable that eMule connects very well in
normal situations. We are something like pain in the
ass of the lugdunum-eMule-connection and they want to
fight against us with all methods.</sarcasm> (:

It is a fact that "the community" doesn't like
mldonkey for reasons I can't unterstand. Okay, the
older version had bugs and "features" that could harm
the network. Now they are fixed.

But I think it is more or less a competition of
server-maintainers that want to point out which penis
is the longest like "I have the most users on my
machine". From this point of view they started their
witch-hunt against mldonkey.

Sometimes I have the fealing that lugdunum-patches
harmed the network in a more efficient way like all
bots, mldonkeys etc. together. (:
