nice that you're working, but DON'T send files to mailing lists. send a 
link to a website or ftp or an ed2k-link or whatever, if you really 
can't wait for the official patch-system at savannah to re-open. 
furthermore, have a look at the diff command, and as a tip, including a 
short description of what your patch is supposed to do is never wrong.
