I though about one extension - in the case of unaccesible SMTP service, monit will not send alarm message. Probably it would be better to spool these messages and send them as soon as the SMTP service starts responding again. It could be possible to define two or more SMTP servers for monit alarms as well (in the case of failure, monit could try next one from the list, etc.)Rory Toma <address@hidden> writes:Let me know what pending things I need to be working on. I've got about 1-2 more weeks of not working on monit, then I'll be back.At the moment we have only the following in the pipeline:1) check device/file/directory Responsible: Martin2) Reload monit on sighup only ++ as recently discussed on this list Responsible: Jan-Henrik As soon as this is done we have a 3.2 release. If you have any new ideas and/or functionality to suggest please do :) Futher down the pipeline we have more major stuff which are listed in this page: http://www.tildeslash.com/monit/next.html
I didn't think about implementation "in deep" yet, but it could have next positives for monit - we could avoid sleep that monit does when restarting services => monit acceleration.
What about it? Cheers, Martin
