[Monotone-devel] Normal usage scenario resulted in headless branch. Is it a bug or did I do something wrong?

I encountered an odd scenario where I now have a headless branch. Is this a bug, or did I do something wrong? More importantly, how can I recover?

 

Any suggestions or assistance would certainly be gratefully accepted.

 

Here is the process that I followed that led me here.

 

1. Checkout of “vendor” branch org.bitfluxeditor.bxeng.
2. Manually updated the tree with latest code from bitflux, adding and removing files using monotone.
3. Commited changes to branch.
4. Pushed changes to peer repository.
5. Propagated changes to com.quoininc.bxeng branch.
6. Checked out branch com.quoininc.bxeng
7. Recursive diff of two branches, and discovered that two files were missing from com.quoininc.bxeng checkout.
8. Added those two files to the com.quoininc.bxeng workspace.
9. Committed changes to com.quoininc.bxeng branch.
10. Attemped to perform clean checkout of com.quoininc.bxeng to an empty directory.
11. Received error below, “monotone: misuse: branch com.quoininc.bxeng is empty”
