To spoil the ending, I'm going to suggest we switch to the name "mtn" for 0.26 and going forward :-).
The name 'monotone' is used in some more applications out of your scope. It runs on servers, some daily automatic builds.
I mostly not use the command line. For daily jobs I have some scripts with special settings I need. All these scripts calls the long name and some longer arguments, for sample
monotone --db=path/file.db pull server.org --branch=blabla For me, a short name would not help.A long name monotone is better for remembering and searching for helps about these programs, for sample google "mtn" compared with "monotone" ;-)
If you change it, I would preffer mtn. -- Henry Nestler
