Hi Wim,
We have just identified this issue - I'll get back to you for a permanent
fix.
It's caused by a function in the rubygems package that was deprecated and
has
been removed in recent versions. It's made worse by refactoring within the
ruby-openid gem and classes that the myExperiment codebase relies on are no
longer present in recent versions of that gem.
For now, my temporary fix is to install ruby-openid 1.1.4 and modify it so
that it uses the "gem" function instead of "require_gem" function.
On our installs, the files are:
/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/ruby-openid-1.1.4/lib/openid/service.rb
line 7
/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/ruby-openid-1.1.4/lib/openid/discovery.rb
line 8
Regards,
Don.

Subject: [Myexperiment-discuss] Disabling openID support
Hi list,
As noted on the developer pages on the wiki, the myexperiment codebase
doesn't currently play well with gem >0.9.4. I recently upgraded my
machine to the latest ubuntu and hit a slight snag there. Is there an
easy way to temporarily disable ruby-openid so I can just run it without
having to worry about gem version etc.?
greets,
Wim
