nano uses the standard GNU NLS system. You need to compile nano with
gettext support and set the "LANG" environment variable to es_ES or
whatever you want to use. You can also start nano with

$ LANG=es_ES nano

and it'll appear in Spanish. Substitute "es_ES" with the desired
language.
