[Nano-devel] DOS/Mac text conversion

Hi all,

I'm currently doing some Windows development (scary stuff indeed, but
nice to have on the resume). Since the Windows shell is terrible, I'm
smbmounting the drive from my Windows development box on my linux
machine, and performing most of my typical command line work there, such
as editing configuration files with nano.

nano-1.2.4 has the unfortunate feature that it always writes text files
in UNIX format, though it will happily read DOS files. I see there's a
-dos option to write text files in DOS format, but I'd rather not have
to remember to use -dos when editing dos files. Instead, I'd like to
write a patch so that nano's default behavior is to write out the file
in the original format.

Thoughts?

Bill
