Whoa! Didn't realize that was there. :)
I see that I can Ctrl-^ (or Ctrl-6) to set mark mode,
then navigate around wherever to extend that marked/selected
area. And I see that I can then Ctrl-k to cut it and Ctrl-u
to paste it back. (Ctrl-6 again unsets mark mode.)
