Would be nice as long as it doesn't slow things down.

Maybe make this an option?  I've seen it both ways in various editors.

If it isn't difficult could you generalize the spell command to pipe to
any nummber of commands?

Why?

IMHO nano should just open help as a text file instead of making it a
separate browser.
