You can simulate it with: stty cols 4; src/nano -$ ChangeLog

The values 4, 5, 6 and 7 will make nano hang.  Anything over
7 will work fine.  Anything below 4 will be refused by nano.

Well, normally when the window gets narrower than four characters,
nano does a controlled suicide.  Getting stuck is not an acceptable
behaviour.
