[Nano-devel] dodgy item in the TODO list |

Hi all,
One item in nano's TODO list says this:
- Fix handling of bad/incomplete UTF-8 sequences to display one Unicode
FFFD (Replacement Character) per sequence instead of one per byte.
But... what if there is a sequence of say twenty bytes of 0x88,
should all twenty bytes be replaced by a single U+FFFD?
I think it's much more "honest" to show exactly how many bytes of
invalid codes there are. (As is now properly done, since r5206.)
What do you think?
Benno
