I don't like M-'. Ubuntu uses this default keybinding to switch
between instances of the same program.

What happens when you press M-' inside a terminal emulator?  Does
it send you to another one?  Do you have multiple terminals open
at the same time?

What alternative would you propose for recordmacro?
