Hi,
I had the same issue on RedHat 7.3. I guess you get a warning message like:
Warning: important GL extension GL_EXT_texture_env_combine missing
To solve the problem, I compiled and installed the last release of Mesa.
Then I reinstalled the drivers of my video card (a GeForce 2 Go) and
recompiled and reinstalled NeL (or at least the NeL OpenGL driver in
code/nel/src/3d/driver/opengl).
I don't know if the trouble come from Mesa or the nvidia driver. The NeL
OpenGL driver calls glGetString(GL_EXTENSIONS) to get the list of
available OpenGL extensions. But actually, only a few of them are
returned (run glxinfo to get the available extensions). As far as the
nvidia driver replaces the Mesa binaries, I guess the driver does
matter. But it is not free so we cannot know what append :o(
Have a nice day,
Aurélien
