OTOH Debian users appreciate it greatly if Debian maintainers act
as a conduit for bug reports (weeding out junk, debian specifics, etc)
and forward them upstream while maintaining the entry in the Debian
BTS; which is all part of the maintainer's job description IMHO.
Which is to say that there are definitely two schools of thought on
this issue :-)
