Additional Info:
Seems to happen just after quotas are turned off in
rc6.d/S01reboot. Again, as soon as "passwd files mysql" is
changed to "passwd files" the problem goes away. I'm
willing to do any testing needed to get this resolved.

Hi again,
I cannot seem to get a redhat 7.3 server to shutdown
properly if mysql is listed after files in
nsswitch.conf. As soon as I remove mysql, the shutdown
is normal.
/usr is mounted on a software raid1. (/dev/md1)
Here are the shutdown messages.
Unmounting file systems: umount2: Device or resource busy
umount: /dev/md1: not mounted
umount: /usr: Illegal seek
INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel.
The system then hangs at that point and needs a hard
reboot. This happens with and without any users logged
in (i.e. even via CAD before login from console). I
could try moving the nss-mysql files to /lib or
similar, but I have redhat 7.2 systems with the same
basic configs that are working just fine.
Thanks again
