Follow-up Comment #18, bug #29447 (project octave): I'm no longer interested in having this fixed in octave, it looks like niftimatlib needs to be looked over carefully for other reasons as well. I have the feeling it has accumulated a few other nasty "tricks" to work around limitations in older Matlab releases and I'm starting to favor a native NIfTI interface perhaps to the reference C-libraries for octave.
