Follow-up Comment #1, bug #29768 (project octave):

Regarding 4), I reckon it will be more Octavish if we just make sqrtm work
efficiently for triangular matrices. schur can even utilize the MatrixType
system and flag the matrix as triangular already when formed. 

More opinions? Do we want the permission from prof. Higham sent to Octave, or
is this enough? (I suppose it is).
