Follow-up Comment #8, bug #29986 (project octave):

The problem with print_usage (caller) in __plt__ is that it doesn't give the
same result as print_usage () in the calling function.  You get a traceback
message, even when the calling function is executed at the top level.  Results
like that can be confusing, which is I think part of the reason for this bug
report in the first place.
