Details:

I set up three subplots arranged vertically, which look OK on the X display
window, but when I print to pdf or ps, they are squished together so the
legend of one graph overlaps the top of the following graph.

This worked fine in 3.0.5 on ubuntu 9.10, the graphs occupied the full page
and didn't overlap. It's been broken since I upgraded to ubuntu 10.04
