Dear Gunnar,

of course the changed orientation in the tests is wrong, sorry for the noise.
I fixed the orientation with the enclosed patch over __splinen__.m (it seems
to me that is does not break anything else). I removed bc and sym_sub2ind in
interp2.m. I'm enclosing the diff files wrt 3.3.53.
