Many thanks for your fast response.
I am using MATLAB Version 6.1.0.450 Release 12.1 (Python and C shows the same
behavior).
However, I just tried the newer MATLAB Version 7.1.0.246 R14 and
astonishingly, it shows the same behavior as Octave (it rounds for int32). So,
I am sorry, I think this bug/issue is then obsolete.

documents this behavior only in the example.
