Follow-up Comment #12, bug #31974 (project octave):

As j(2,2) doesn't work in matlab one final test. What does

Inf * (ones(2,2) * j)
Inf(2,2) .* (ones(2,2) * j)

give in matlab? I'm desperately hoping there is a NaN in the real part, as
then we'd only have to check if a scalar is purely imaginary.
