Details:

In ols.m, the variable r is used with two meanings, the rank of a matrix, and
the matrix of residuals. In line 116, it's used with both meanings, but it has
the value of being the residuals. Thus, the second output value sigma is
incorrect.

This affects both v3.4.0 and the development sources. A patch for the
development version is attached.
