Follow-up Comment #6:

As this problem is due to a conflict with function that is not part of
Octave's core, should the solution is to modify the m-file path to ensure
Octave's core functions are encountered first, or to just uninstall Octave
Forge's plot package.

I also noticed that the ginput.m function has been eliminated from the plot
package on Octave Forge. Thus, it looks to me like this problem has been
"fixed".

I'll close this report. It can be re-opened if necessary.
