Fixed on the stable branch in this changeset
(http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/248d05c413dc).  The reporter can
wait for the expected stable 3.4.3 release in the next month or build from
source to see the fix.

line() now actually validates its inputs to prevent putting the graphics
toolkit into an unrecoverable state.
