Follow-up Comment #5, bug #35094 (project octave): Ryan, When configure is done, it saves "./configure.log". This file contains a lot of info that can be useful in debugging the problem. Please attach this file as well. When "make check" is run, the file "./tests/fntests.log" is also created and saved. Was this file created? My naive guess is that the problem you are having is related to build-time or run-time dependencies. You attempt to ensure all run-time dependencies are present by installing Octave via you package manager. Just install the most recent version available and then remove it (the run-time dependencies will remain).
