Follow-up Comment #12, bug #35157 (project octave):

One more thing:

doc i    takes you to advanced indexing
doc I    takes you to the i (I,j,J) functions
         in the Math Constants
doc j and
doc J    take you to the graphics functions

The behavior of i, j, and J could be considered
a bug.

I now remember why I try never to use i, I, j, J
as variables.  This is probably "well-known"?
