Follow-up Comment #21, bug #35559 (project octave): I've made a stab at coding something which switches the gl2ps sort order based on whether the plot is 2D or 3D. It is definitely not final but I want to see what you think. I fear it will break for subplots where one axis might be 2D and another 3D. I didn't see a quick way to handle that yet.
