Details:

Hi,

With the 3.6.1rc0 tarball on OpenBSD, I get some errors relating to .texi
files:

rm -rf $backupdir; exit $rc

/usr/ports/pobj/octave-3.6.1-rc0/octave-3.6.1-rc0/doc/interpreter//matrix.texi:1300:

Unknown command `leq'.

/usr/ports/pobj/octave-3.6.1-rc0/octave-3.6.1-rc0/doc/interpreter//matrix.texi:1300:

Misplaced {.

/usr/ports/pobj/octave-3.6.1-rc0/octave-3.6.1-rc0/doc/interpreter//matrix.texi:1300:

Misplaced }.

I tried again with --disable-docs:

gmake[3]: Entering directory
`/usr/ports/pobj/octave-3.6.1-rc0/build-amd64/doc/inerpreter'
rm -f AUTHORS
/bin/sh /usr/ports/pobj/octave-3.6.1-rc0/octave-3.6.1-rc0/build-aux/missing
--runmakeinfo -D AUTHORSONLY
  --no-validate --no-headers --no-split --output AUTHORS preface.texi
preface.texi:82: @include `contributors.texi': No such file or directory.
makeinfo: Removing output file `AUTHORS' due to errors; use --force to
preserve.
gmake[3]: [../../AUTHORS] Error 1 (ignored)
mv AUTHORS ../../AUTHORS
mv: AUTHORS: No such file or directory
gmake[3]: *** [../../AUTHORS] Error 1
gmake[3]: Leaving directory
`/usr/ports/pobj/octave-3.6.1-rc0/build-amd64/doc/intrpreter'
gmake[2]: *** [AUTHORS] Error 2
gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/pobj/octave-3.6.1-rc0/build-amd64'
gmake[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/pobj/octave-3.6.1-rc0/build-amd64'
gmake: *** [all] Error 2
*** Error code 2

OpenBSD uses texinfo 4.8 in it's base distribution - the latest in 4.13. Our
version is probably too old, but I would expect --disable-docs to prevent
building of all docs?

Cheers
