Nate, is this still a problem for you ?

As there has been no activity for mor than a year, and no one else has
reported this problem, I'm closing this bug report.

If you're still experiencing the problem, please do as suggested by Tatsuro
and check the windows task manager to see if gnuplot is consuming excessive
cpu time.

If you are still experiencing this problem, we can reopen this report.
