Follow-up Comment #4:

This has been fixed on the development branch.  At least, I can reproduce the
problem on 3.6.1 but a recent tip doesn't have this issue.

I would suggest building from source if you need to get the fix immediately,
although this is considerably harder on Windows platforms than on UNIX-like
ones.  Instructions for accessing the development sources are available here
(http://www.gnu.org/software/octave/get-involved.html).  Otherwise, the fix
will be available in the 3.8.0 version of Octave.
