Details:

I uploaded the Octave Mingw files and installed the Octave and also the
packages.
Installation went very well. When I open the executable, it gives me the usual
warning

Octave was configured for "i686-pc-mingw32".

warning: gmsh does not seem to be present some functionalities will be
disabled
warning: dx does not seem to be present some functionalities will be disabled
warning: function
C:\Octave\Octave3.6.1_gcc4.6.2\share\octave\packages\statistics-1.1.0\fstat.m
shadows a core library function

but everything seems to be working well except when I plot.
Even for simple plot
plot(1:5,1:5);
it takes about 5-10 seconds for the Gnuplot window to appear.
The Octave is located in
C:/Octave and the filename has no spaces. ("I saw someone suggesting in the
posts that this could be a problem").

I will appreciate any help.
Thank you
Rajan
