Follow-up Comment #1, bug #37115 (project octave):
John explained how to deal with this in an email to the maintainer's list:
If you are having trouble building Octave now because defaults.h is
not available at the point where it is needed in the gui/src
directory, just cd to the src (NOT gui/src) directory and type
make interpfcn/defaults.h
and then proceed with the build. I'll see about fixing this in a few
days.
