Follow-up Comment #1:

After discussion on the octave-maintainers list, it has been decided to keep
gl2ps as an embedded component of Octave for one more release cycle.  At that
point we expect the distribution packagers such as Debian, RedHat, Fink, etc.
will be producing gl2ps packages.  Therefore, at the second release from now
gl2ps will be removed from the code and become an external dependency for
Octave.

Marking this bug as postponed.
