Follow-up Comment #1, bug #37342 (project octave):

You can reproduce the problem with the example file from Octave.
A warning occurs during compilation:

octave/examples> mkoctfile --mex myfeval.c
myfeval.c: In function ‘mexFunction’:
myfeval.c:21:3: warning: passing argument 4 of ‘mexCallMATLAB’ from
incompatible pointer type
octave/mexproto.h:77:26: note: expected ‘mxArray **’ but argument is of
type ‘const mxArray **’

and the execution of the MEX file returns an error:

octave:1> myfeval
error: octave/examples/myfeval.mex: failed to load:
octave/examples/myfeval.mex: undefined symbol: mexCallMATLAB
