Follow-up Comment #4, bug #37410 (project octave):

I'd like to eliminate the use of length in Octave because the definition of
length (inherited from prehistoric Matlab) is weird.  So please use numel
instead unless there is some specific case that actually needs the strange
behavior of the length function.  And in that case, please comment why it is
needed.
