Follow-up Comment #4, bug #37416 (project octave):

I have the same system and set of packages and it works for me.

Can you run the following commands in a root shell:


update-alternatives --set libblas.so.3 /usr/lib/libblas/libblas.so.3
update-alternatives --set liblapack.so.3 /usr/lib/lapack/liblapack.so.3


and start up Octave again and repeat the same test? Does it work now?

If it works, then it's probably a bug in the Debian atlas package and not
anything that can be changed in Octave. Possibly this bug:
