Update of bug #37961 (project octave): Status: None => Need Info Assigned to: None => philipnienhuis _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comment #1: Try with small caps ('whitespace') and report back, pls. textscan's / strread's / textread's parameters are case-sensitive. BTW having a "literal' ';' between the format conversion specifiers and at the same time declaring it as whitespace may lead to unpredictable results. What does Matlab return? Also note that your first line will come out differently from the rest.
