Follow-up Comment #1, bug #36988 (project octave):

Hi Matteo,
I tried your script with the octave3.6.2 MinGW build.
100 times in a loop with both graphics backends (fltk and gnuplot) and without
problems.

How do you know it crashes sometimes while meshgrid or griddata and sometimes
in mesh?

What output or error message do you see when it crashes?

Perhaps you could try 3.6.2 and see if it's fixed there?
