Update of bug #38166 (project octave):

                  Status:                    None => Confirmed

Follow-up Comment #1:

Confirmed in dev version and 3.6.1 on Linux.

Interestingly, this works OK on Windows w. 3.6.1 & 3.6.2 (MinGW & MSVC); that
is, all the output meant for the graphical backend is echoed to the Octave
terminal (I have no opinion on whether that is expected or Good behavior) but
there's no crash.
