Details:
A null matrix, [], is filtered out when creating a new matrix.
[1, 2, [], 3, 4]
ans =
1 2 3 4
However, a null cell, {}, causes the matrix to be re-defined as a cell.
[1, 2, {}, 3, 4]
ans =
{
[1,1] = 1
[1,2] = 2
[1,3] = 3
[1,4] = 4
}
This seems really odd.
