Follow-up Comment #2, bug #38560 (project octave):
I took a look at the patch to scintilla
http://sourceforge.net/p/scintilla/bugs/1414/ and played around with it in the
native Gtk editor.
It doesnt support nested multiline comments, and seems to not recognise the
commented block lines very well when typing into the editor.
The patch was also submitted back in october with a comment in December 2012
about it not being complete (in terms of initialization of variables in the
lexer)
I will volunteer to chase down the issues with teh lexer and see if it can
make its way into scintilla.
