Follow-up Comment #6, bug #37401 (project octave):

If you'd like to see something really odd, adjust the width of the Command
Window to something less than 80 characters, say 75.  Type in a really long
line of text, say 150 or 200 characters by holding down a key.  Hit return. 
Hit the up arrow and notice that the line comes back and adjusts vertical
space.  Hit up arrow a few times to recall history.  It seems to function
well.

Now, adjust the Command Window so that it is greater than 80 characters, way
90.  You can see the size label pop up when adjusting.  Press the up arrow to
recall history.  Whenever there is a long line that goes past a couple lines,
the text erases a couple lines.  It will keep doing this until the command
line drifts up to the top of the windows and the model becomes empty.  (The
"model" in Qt parlance is the part holding the data I think.  The "view" is
the object that displays the data model.)

Something with that size between view and emulator doesn't seem correct.
