Follow-up Comment #7, bug #39009 (project octave):
I think your use of the term is fine, I was just unfamiliar with it, and it is
not really descriptive of what the key is doing. It's not "dead", it is a
prefix character.
Anwyay, I don't know how to solve the problem, so someone else will have to
provide a solution for this one.
