Follow-up Comment #17, bug #38305 (project octave):

The file dialog is probably the only part of Octave that relies on Samba
access.  My guess is that Samba masks or blocks the mechanism that notifies
QProcess of a completed task.


"As far as I understand only KDE is affected?"

This I don't know.  If it is purely a Windows environment, there shouldn't be
a problem, because QProcess wouldn't be using the linux notification
mechanism.  I'm not sure we have other examples of Linux + Samba server on
other setups yet.
