Follow-up Comment #28, bug #38305 (project octave):

Further information:  I'm running Gnome without any kind of LAN.  I do not see
a SIGAIO defined in my config file (i.e. I did a whole search of my BUILD
directory

grep SIGAIO * -r

and saw nothing).  Perhaps check if that is defined in KDE LAN environments.
