Follow-up Comment #11, bug #38785 (project octave): A short interim report: I have found out that in windows, floating dock-widgets only behave like stand-alone windows if the parent of the widgets is removed (setParent (0)). But since the "connection" between main window and widget then is lost some problems arise.
